sponsor an island hoops program
Island Hoops Basketball Society strives to create programming that is accessible to as many people as possible. We are hard at work developing inclusive practices for cultural and mental safety, and designing our programs to support people at all skill levels whenever possible. However, we have found that financial barriers are one of the biggest challenges experienced by people who are unable to participate in our programs.
By sponsoring an Island Hoops Basketball Society program, you are providing opportunities for people who may not otherwise be able to participate in organized sport. Very few opportunities for women exist to safely play basketball in the south island area, and even fewer opportunities exist for non-binary and trans folks. Island Hoops Basketball Society provides diverse basketball programming that prioritizes supporting teammates and finding joy in sport. It’s more than just basketball; it’s a supportive community.
IHBS is entirely volunteer-driven and seeks out cost-effective choices whenever possible. We rely on sponsors to help us meet our budget and keep our registration fees low in the face of rising insurance, equipment and gym rental costs.
IHBS is actively seeking out sponsors for the following:
Only one presenting sponsorship is available per program per season. Presenting and community sponsors provide funding for program expenses, like insurance and gym rental fees. Player sponsors cover the registration fee of a player who could not otherwise afford to register.
IHBS is able to offer the following recognition to our sponsors:
